I saw this in the early 2000s but i was born 2004 so i was around 5-9 yrs old

unfortunately they will keep jacking up the prices as long as the crowds keep coming. The last couple times my family of 6 went in 2019 and 2021, we stayed off property in a condo through VRBO, only 5 minutes from the parks. It cost a fraction of the price of a hotel room at Disney and we saved a lot on food since we had a full kitchen. Unfortunately there's no escaping the cost of the tickets.

The videos that were made for this attraction including the pre show and the ride film are so uninspiring and cringy.

Personally I love the futuristic look to the monoliths, they really give off brutalistic scifi vibes and I think it really well fits the vibe of the park for what its original design scheme was for the park.

ive been going yearly since 2018, other than 2020. i went before that in 1997(was 4 cant remember the trip). i am fine with the parks and prices. its going to be so nice when universals new park opens and disney will be less crowded.

The sailing ship over the rooftops in New Orleans Square! The way you can locate the monuments in Epcot through other things (example: the China arch)

The Hollywood studios icon is 100% the Tower of Terror, without a doubt. I can’t see how you think Hollywood Studios struggles to find its icon, when it’s clearly the Tower of Terror. The Chinese theater is A icon, but not the central icon of the park. There can be more than one icon at parks. For instance, Magic Kingdom’s main icon is obviously the castle, but another icon is space mountain, or big thunder. With Animal kingdom, the main is the tree of life, another one would be expedition Everest. That’s my thought

Yeah. It sucked. Sucked hard. It’s a text book example of what not to do when updating an existing attraction.

I almost decided to purchase a tile in 2003, but decided not to because the "legacy" was only guaranteed for 20 yrs. I've only been back to Epcot two times since.

Hear me out but Fast and Furious ride in Hollywood is actually good because it’s just a small piece of the big studio tour and if you don’t like it there you will probably like something else in the tour but in Florida is shit because it’s just the same thing from Hollywood with just a new pre show and nothing new added in the actual ride and at least with Kong they added new scenes and a big Kong at the end but with Fast it’s just the same experience

This is a really good video. I have subscribed. This takes me back to when I was young and went to DisneyWorld with my parents. I am very aware of how things look and even then I recall how everything was immersive, even though I didn't know how to articulate that at the time. My parents noticed it too.

I think Universal's Epic Universe is stepping up their sightlines based on the construction photos I've seen.

i remember seeing the stones in like 2012, and i definitely thought they were a vietnam war memorial?? i was like 5 i have no idea what was going on in my little cranium, but apparently it wasn’t much

I also, at first, thought they were some sort of memorial rather than just pictures of people who have been to epcot during a certain period.

So many of these problems come down to the obsession with IP and the choice to destroy legacy attractions replace them with new rides that often have "more relevant" IP. This is a problem for a bunch of reasons. 1. It hurts the nostalgia factor of the park and means that older generations can't share beloved old rides with their kids 2. It often damages the consistency of parks robbing them of the vision of each park's theme* (for ex. replacing Maelstrom with a Frozen ride that belongs in Fantasyland and messing generally with EPCOT's nonfiction vision) 3. It makes the park feel dated much faster. If you replace everything with IP relevant specifically to the moment it ages a lot faster than if you have a bunch of rides from a variety of decades all existing together. 4. It worsens crowds by failing to increase park capacity. Disney World in particular has a ton of space and should be building to meet increased crowds. Instead they keep replacing attractions and often reducing capacity in the process. A ton of the crowding isn't Disney's increased popularity (although that's obviously a factor) it's the fact that Disney doesn't seem to care about capacity and refuses to build the kind of crowd building attractions that ensure people have something to do once they've spent $180 to get into your park. I honestly wouldn't consider a lot of the "new" attractions new, because gutting an old ride isn't the same thing as building something new, esp. from a crowd control perspective. *Particularly damaging IMO bc Disney has historically done a much better job of making parks feel like unique projects rather than the mash of IP across parks at Universal (which tbh they are better at anyway)

Harbor Attack was an independent attraction not based on any one movie, but a show about practical special effects in the Golden Age of Hollywood. i know because my brother and i were picked to participate in the show. i was at the wheel, he was at the machine gun. it was BITCHIN. so much fun.
